Refining control for daily use

Quartet’s V8.x enhancements expanded device control, privacy options, nurse-call support, power-failure behavior, and configuration flexibility — refinements shaped by how people used ECUs every day.

A switch-based path to communication

Created in response to a VA request for a Veteran who could use a switch but could not communicate verbally, this ECU with a Morse Code PC interface translated switch input into text on a computer. Everyone has a voice, even if they cannot verbalize.

World’s first voice-activated ECU

Decades before voice assistants became common in the home, Quartet introduced the Simplicity Series 5 — a purpose-built environmental control unit that gave people a practical way to control everyday functions by voice, whether from bed, a wheelchair, or elsewhere in the home.
